A Local’s Guide to Boston

Disclaimer: Paid partnership with the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard®

Boston is my home, and it’s the perfect sized city to explore on foot. The city offers a well-rounded blend of historic charm, delicious noms, and fun activities. We get all four seasons in one year, which is a reason to come back and visit multiple times. Here are my recommendations:

Where to stay:

If you are traveling solo, or with the family, here are my hotel recommendations on where to stay in Boston.

Boston Common: Ritz-Carlton Boston

The Ritz-Carlton in Boston is one of the best hotels to stay in the city. With on-site valet, and two amazing dining experiences: Avery Bar and the Artisan Bistro, you won’t have to leave the hotel. The hotel is also in the heart of downtown and overlooks the historic Boston Common.

Downtown Boston: The Langham Boston

Located in the heart of the Boston, The Langham offers breathtaking views of the Financial District in Boston. The location of the hotel is perfect to explore all the best historical attractions the city has to offer like the Freedom Trail, Quincy Market and Boston Harbor. The Langham offers two in-house dining options, Grana, and The Fed.

What to do

Boston Public Library

Visit the Boston Public Library, one of my favorite places in the city. The perfect place for visitors and locals to relax in the stunning courtyard or experience the Map Room Tea Lounge.

Beacon Hill

Visit the historic neighborhood of Beacon Hill for fun shopping and cafe hopping. Enjoy a delicious hot cup of coffee, lunch, and shopping in the Beacon Hill Book Shop. Then head to stroll around the Charles Esplanade.

What to eat

There are so many amazing local restaurants to try in Boston. Here are some of my favorite places you must try.

  • Frenchie Boston

  • Burro Bar

  • Black Lamb

The best part, all these restaurants can be found on the DoorDash app. If you’re not in the mood to leave your hotel room, you can order delivery on the app or order pick-up. I particularly love paying for my DoorDash orders with my DoorDash Rewards Mastercard®, because I earn 4% cash back when I order directly from DoorDash . Even better, I can use the card on every other purchase and earn 3% cash back on dining (when purchased directly from a restaurant), 2% cash back on grocery stores (purchase online or in-store) and 1% cash back on all other purchases.

The DoorDash Rewards Mastercard is the best card for anyone looking to explore their neighborhood and earn cash back along the way.
